AsureQuality’s status as a government-owned food assurance entity helps New Zealand food producers build trust and credibility with consumers, and is highly regarded in many markets, in particular China and South-East Asia.
Through reporting, regular meetings and building strong relationships, the AsureQuality Board and Executive team members keep the Government well informed of business activities and the important role AsureQuality plays in food assurance in New Zealand through our testing, inspection and auditing services.
Following meetings earlier this year with other key sector Ministers, AsureQuality CEO, Kim Ballinger and COO, Jeremy Hood recently met with Minister Hon Todd McClay, who holds the Agriculture and Trade portfolios. This was a great opportunity to update the Minister on key initiatives to support New Zealand producers and food manufacturers with overseas market access.
Being strongly connected to the New Zealand Government as a state-owned enterprise supports our agility in regulatory compliance, food safety and quality, and ensures we maintain independence of the highest integrity.
